A healthy puppy, or your money back
Healthy Basset Hound puppies start long before the litter is born. Both parents are health-tested, the pregnancy is vet-supervised, and no puppy is released without a clean examination in the week of collection.
Health-tested parents
Hips and elbows scored, eyes examined annually, and breed-specific screening for thrombopathia and glaucoma. Certificates are shared before a deposit, not after.
Two vet examinations
Each puppy is examined at six weeks and again in the week of collection. Heart, eyes, joints, bite and weight are all recorded on the release form.
Vaccinated and wormed
First vaccination at eight weeks, second at eleven where the puppy stays with us longer. Worming from two weeks on a fortnightly schedule, all dated and signed.
Microchipped and registered
Chipped before collection and transferred into your name on the day, so a lost hound comes back to you rather than to us.

What exactly does the 24-month guarantee cover?
Any hereditary or congenital condition diagnosed by a licensed vet within 24 months of collection, confirmed in writing. Where such a condition is found, we offer a replacement puppy from a future litter or a full refund, at your choice. We do not ask you to return the dog to claim it.
What should my own vet check in the first 72 hours?
Heart and lungs, eyes, joints, umbilicus, bite alignment and general condition, plus a weight to add to the chart we send. Bring the folder with you, it saves the appointment repeating tests we have already done.
Are Bassets prone to particular problems?
The breed is watched for ear infections, intervertebral disc disease, bloat, elbow dysplasia and glaucoma. Weight control and stair discipline in the first year prevent a surprising share of it. We send a written care sheet covering all five.
When should I neuter?
Not before twelve months, and eighteen is often better for a heavy-boned breed. Early neutering delays growth-plate closure and is associated with joint problems in dogs built like this one. Discuss timing with your vet and with us.
Is insurance included?
Four weeks of introductory cover starts on collection day and is included in the price. You will need to arrange your own policy before it expires; we send a reminder at day twenty-one.
